Country level exposure guidelines have rapidly reduced over the past 15 years. New research explains that only very low levels of EM exposure are considered safe, because harmful biological effects have been recorded at levels as low as 0.01 µW/cm2. These effects include DNA damage, heavy metal toxicity, cellular membrane deterioration and suppression of the immune system.
All over the world there are detailed studies being undertaken in many laboratories and universities to fully understand the harmful effects of electromagnetic radiation. New research findings are being published frequently in all countries. Some of the latest research is listed here.
This report represents the ‘Gold Standard’ from a medical research point of view. The 29 contributing authors from 10 countries are all extensively published specialists who are regarded as authorities in their fields. Their overwhelming conclusion is that we need to reduce EM exposure for the human race, and find cleaner, smarter technology solutions.
Since the very first standards were published in 1996 and levels of 1000 µW/cm2 were considered safe, the medical research has pushed down the acceptable safe exposure levels into a state of freefall. The latest public safety levels published in Germany (2008) and accepted in the EU parliament (2011) are now down to 0.01 µW/cm2.
